I have had a long and very varied career in the built environment sector, starting as a qualified architect in London then moving to the US and New York City where my roles moved into more management-based activities, from construction to client project management.

I then took a break to raise our twins and returned into practice management within architectural practices, rising to the position of Practice Director in several leading practices including Morris+Company and Cowen+Partners.

From my experience in the workplace and people management studies I recognise the business importance of people strategies in employee engagement, motivation and business performance and how this is inextricably linked to a business' strategic objectives and purpose.
